Experience
Lead Open Source Software Engineer
Aug 2025 – PresentYACS · RCOS · RPI
I lead the rebuild of YACS, the open-source course scheduling platform RPI students use to plan their semesters. I guide the move from the original Vue app to a FastAPI backend and React/TypeScript frontend, and work across the API, the pipeline that imports course data, and the setup that gets new contributors up and running.
Software Engineering Intern
Jun 2026 – Aug 2026Varyn Technologies · Remote
I built the automation behind Varyn's sales process — a set of event-driven workflows that handle booking demos, checking attendance, and onboarding new customers. I also modeled what the LLM-powered parts would cost as usage grew, and put limits in place to keep that spend under control.
Open Source Software Engineering Intern
Jan 2024 – Apr 2024Submitty · RCOS · RPI
I contributed to Submitty, RPI's open-source autograding platform. I led the removal of an outdated theme system to simplify the UI code, and reviewed contributors' pull requests — introducing a standard review checklist along the way.
Lead Programming Instructor
Aug 2023 – PresentSHPE · Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
I teach programming to members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and lead student project teams, including guiding a three-person team from planning to a working app used by 20+ students.
Projects
GneissCash
GitHub ↗A personal finance tool that turns bank statements into a clear picture of where money goes. It imports and organizes transactions, then shows cash flow and spending patterns over time. I built the whole stack: the Node/Express API, the PostgreSQL database, and the React dashboard.
Node.js · Express · React · TypeScript · PostgreSQL
PQS Tracker
GitHub ↗An API for tracking qualification sign-offs — who has completed which requirements and who approved them. It enforces the sign-off rules and keeps a complete audit history, so a person's status is always accurate and traceable.
C# · ASP.NET Core · EF Core · SQLite · xUnit
